In 1915 Rose was as active in the arts as at any point in his career and apparently in good health. In addition to his show at the Steckel and Battey galleries, he became a member of the board of governors of the Los Angeles Museum of History, Science and Art, founded in 1913. He also joined the largest and most powerful local art organization, the California Art Club.
It was in that same year that Rose exhibited two oil paintings - "The Backwater", and "November Twilight" in California's most important exhibition up to that date, the Panama-Pacific International Exposition, held in San Francisco, an international fair organized to celebrate the opening of the Panama Canal in 1915.
