A capable painter and with Hansen as a neighbor and mentor…Greenwell employs a strong primary color palette (as Hansen) and uses his "green well", though he had a more decorative feeling in his paint application.
A example of the "Hansenian era" of the Monterey group and would hang in context with Lucy Pierce, Albert Barrows, Gus Gay, Helen Forbes, Phillips Lewis, the Brutons, etc.
